Arun is based in Southern California. He paints almost every day - for him painting is a way to process and capture his personal experiences, celebrate life and master challenges. Just as immigration and travel have shaped his previous life, he often addresses isolation, cultural conflicts and colonial history in his works of art. The resulting art is very personal and mirrors t resisted his personality. He attributes the diversity of topics and the fast brush movements to his slight attention span and his tendency to dyslexia. The colorful palette results from its upbringing in India. Arun inspired life in California to create realistic sea landscapes, which he paints in his studio based on his own photographs. Arun's work is influenced by many styles - abstract expressionism, impressionism, orientalism. His favorite artists include a versatile group, including J. Singer Sargent, Jean-Leon Jerome, Krishen Khanna, Cecily Brown, W. Dekoonig and R. Diebenkorn. Arun is a member of the Artist Guild of the San Diego Museum of Art. In March 2019, Arun was awarded 2nd place Award of Excellence in the group exhibition sponsored by the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild in the Lyceum Theater; Curator Sonya Sparks
