About William Turner 1775-1851 English oil and watercolor painters. He mainly painted landscapes, historical images and seasceptors. At a young age, William Turner reached the highest technical perfection and was one of the most important artists in Britain to the Royal Academy, nine years later he was one of their members. Experiments with new techniques and intensive occupation with Goethe's color theory, together with extensive travel at Turner, triggered an important style change. He bravely left the established rules of image tradition and subject realism and devoted himself intensively to the effects of light and movement. Turner received a lot of criticism for his completely new painting. But his exact observation of nature and the flowing light in the paintings of the great romantic gave the way for the impressionists and for the development of modern painting. Most of his works are located in the London Tate Gallery.
