Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was an outstanding abstract expressionist and co-founder of the artist group "The Blue Rider". He developed a unique "Alphabet of the Art of the 20th Century", which focused on the raw power of color and composition without relying on representative representations. Kandinsky believed that the mystery of life could only be captured by the abstract interaction of colors and shapes. Born in Moscow, he devoted himself entirely to art in 1896 after moving to Munich and founded the "Phalanx" painting school, where he met Gabriele Münter, his future partner. Travel through Europe and North Africa expanded its artistic horizon, while a longer phase in Murnau had an important impact on his work.
