About Manel Vidal The artist, born in Spain in 1953, already showed a preference for plastic work and sculpture as a child. However, since he could not count on family support, he applied his artistic skills in the textile industry. When an art school was founded in his hometown La Pobla de Claramunt in 1981, the "Escuela de Artes Y Oficios", he took over the function of the rector there. He gives up this position after a few years in order to devote himself entirely to his sculptural work. It creates sculptures that show a clear tendency towards the figurative in dynamic, dance movement. In his theme world, man is the focus of a constantly renewing creation. Like the great masters of Greek antiquity, he is always looking for the truth and the origin of human existence. With vigor, he breaks open the veteran and forms it into sculptures of unique beauty and expressiveness.
