“Aglaia” (meaning “the splendor”) was the passionate wife of Vulcan. According to Greek belief, the Graces bring true pleasures to life; joy, merriment, and gaiety enter into their company. In the retinue of Venus, Bacchus, and Apollo, they ensure that the beloved becomes truly charming to her lover, and the wife to her husband – thus symbolizing the joys of love itself.
Limited original editions in two versions. Dimensions: 34 x 18 x 23 cm (W/H/D). Cast in exquisite bronze using the elaborate lost-wax casting process, finely patinated and polished by hand.

About Peter Hohberger (*1939), former actor, now sculptor and painter: Born on November 12, 1939, in Silesia, sculptor Peter Hohberger was already engaged in drawing and modeling as a child. After a successful acting career, he has dedicated himself to painting and the visual arts for many years. He consciously considers himself a sculptor in the classical sense. His fundamental aesthetic understanding is shaped by nature; it is the beauty of the human body itself that fascinates him and which he translates, untouched by modernism, into his nudes and portrait busts. He does not deny his role models: the masters of ancient Greece, Auguste Rodin, and above all Arno Breker, who personally instructed him. He has learned from all of them, and not only in the precision with which he knows how to depict the beauty of the female form. Hohberger says: "Art that enriches life and brings joy to people outlasts every kind of so-called zeitgeist.".
