Constance Renken is a freelance artist based in Hamburg. Her passion for painting developed at a young age. In her large-format, abstract works, where she applies acrylic paints to canvas with a palette knife, expressive colors dominate, capturing the emotions of interpersonal encounters. The more extreme the color contrasts, the more intense and authentic the feeling of the connection. "Sometimes you meet people in your life, besides those you love, who fascinate and touch you in a special way. For me, these kinds of encounters are intrinsically linked to intense thoughts that I need to process in a work of art," says Constance Renken. "The time I spend immersed in my art is a piece of freedom for me... far removed from everyday life and all its rules. I experience it as very precious and fulfilling. Every piece is a part of me and my personal story."
