Hundertwasser has dealt with architecture since the 1950s. On the occasion of the inauguration of the Hundertwasser House of the City of Vienna (1986), he said: "We are experiencing a change again where old and rigid values ​​in architecture and urban development are increasingly being questioned. The straightforwardness and uniformity of the Bauhaus architecture is imminent, because it is insensitive, sterile, cold, heartless, aggressive and emotionless. Values ​​are an increased quality of life and not living standards. Our era has found the most impressive challenger of totalitarian thinking in Friedensreich Hundertwasser, whether it is about nuclear energy, genetic engineering, environmental protection or the design of our habitat. Hundertwasser lived completely in harmony with his view of things and in opposition to the contradictions of the post -industrial society. Hundertwasser's meaning is his art, which produces beauty: a message of natural harmony, peace, joy.
