The artistic work of Stefan Szczesny, born in Munich in 1951, shapes the art of the present. A scholarship in Paris and stays in New York, in the Villa Massimo in Rome, in southern France and in the Caribbean, his work had a lasting impact. Szczesny was instrumental in the movement of the "young wild", who once again discovered the expressive, figurative painting for themselves in the late 1970s.
