Simply live your life and always be the best and boldest version of yourself. A mottothat not only makes our daily lives more pleasant but can also increase our well-being. We often tend to compare ourselves to other people who might be more muscular, more beautiful, or younger.

But let's not forget that every person is unique in their own way. Self-esteem doesn't have to diminish; rather, it can be enhanced through meaningful optimization. There are many different approaches to this. Besides diet and physical activity, clothing a crucial role.

Fashion as the boldest self

Gottfried Keller once said, "Clothes make the man." A double entendre. On the one hand, it suggests that a person's image depends on their clothing, but it can also mean that clothes we feel comfortable in enhance our lives and boost our self-esteem.

Clothing is therefore a key focus when it comes to our own self. Our clothing not only protects us from the cold or prying eyes, but also reveals something about who we are or want to be.

One example of this is na-kd ART, which merges fashion into an artistic status symbol. The Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen made clothing accessible to a broad audience as art, subtly political messages as well as emotions .

Those who wish to live out their boldest selves can use fashion not only to shape their lifestylebut also their very personal identity. Early examples of this can be found in printed form in the first German fashion magazine, which was first published in 1786 (Journal des Luxus und der Moden).

Art, style , and creative identities merged into a unified whole. The exquisite materials, still handcrafted at the time, were pure art.

It's not just the artful decoration that gently and stylishly envelops us that boosts our self-esteem. How we treat ourselves can also contribute significantly. Our environment—our home and our behavior—plays a crucial role. An important aspect of this is self-love, not to be confused with selfishness.

Self -love revolves around two key aspects. Firstly, our own empathy, which enables us to interact with others consciously and respectfully, and secondly, the lovewe feel for ourselves. We certainly don't have to be perfect. Accepting ourselves, including our weaknesses, and loving and respecting ourselves is a huge step towards greater self-esteem.

That might sound cold and bold at first, but perhaps therein lies the secret to living life simply and appreciating ourselves at the same time. Fashion, self-love, respect – these are all aspects that not only shape us into works of art, but also make us unique.

In such cases, clothing becomes much more than just a covering; it becomes a second self that represents us and our lifestyle with all our feelings and desires, both outwardly and inwardly.

Perhaps the following videos will help you further on your path to fulfilling self-love:

Modern Spirituality: The Dream of the Optimized Self | ARTE Re: Documentary

Modern spirituality is booming. More and more people are asking themselves how they can become a better version of themselves, achieve more fulfilling relationships, and find greater success at work. They are increasingly seeking answers from spiritual coaches, whom they often encounter on social media. In contrast to outdated esotericism, modern spirituality presents itself as decidedly secular. This report explores what constitutes modern spirituality and why so many people today yearn for a higher purpose in life.

How do I cope with my body? | WDR Documentary

Sara Wendhack travels through the West, meeting people who struggle with their appearance, diet, and undergo cosmetic surgery. But she also meets those who are happy to show off their bodies: Marika Nagy, for example; she was bullied as a child because of her pigmentation disorder. Today, she's making a name for herself as a model and is the face of an international campaign. "What constitutes a positive body image? Can you learn to love your body?" There's now an entire industry surrounding the body positivity movement. Self-help courses promising a more positive attitude towards one's own body are a bestseller. What makes it so difficult to simply accept yourself as you are?

Formula for Happiness: How to Lead a Happy Life in Gratitude // Dieter Lange

explains Dieter Langewhy you should let go of your expectations and go through life with more serenity and awareness. He talks about why you can play the game of life, but never win it. And he reveals why the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" is one of the worst questions you can ask children.

The path may initially seem far away. However, getting started is easier than many think. We stand in front of the mirror, look at ourselves, and smile.

A sense of humility washes over us; we are content with ourselves. Now, in a decidedly old-fashioned way, we can take a piece of paper and write down our wishes. How do we want to be? What is our innermost self?

A first step towards a better life.
