In his brief introduction, Berlin's Senator for Culture, Joe Chialo (CDU), opened the event and spoke about the abstract forms and landscapes in the paintings, which could be both internal and natural. Art collector René Scharf and his wife, Hollywood lawyer Christiane Stützle, were also present at an event, along with a large number of prominent figures such as publisher Florian Langenscheidt , Jan Oelmann from the Friends of the New National Gallery association and other well-known names.
