GENDER BENDER TIME TRAVELLER is the world's first queer art exhibition to unite the real world and the metaverse: It showcases artworks by 21 internationally renowned artists who challenge our perceptions of gender, sexuality, identity, and culture. The works range from metaverse landscapes and hybrid avatars to VR sex clubs, blurring the boundaries between humans, art, and machines – and thus reinterpreting the digital art of the future.
The exhibition runs from October 6th to 30th, 2022 (opening hours: Tue-Wed 2-9 pm, Thu-Sun 12-7 pm) and is located in the space above the legendary LSD erotic market at Kurfürstenstraße 151 in Berlin-Tiergarten. Tickets (€13) are available online at eventbrite.com .
With the ticket, visitors receive a free NFT of the exhibition's key visual, created by an AI program.
GENDER BENDER TIME TRAVELLER is an exhibition curated by Geisted , a Berlin-based art company founded by Israeli artist Amir Fattal, which links NFT art and the real world .
The exhibition explores the transformation of our identities in the digital age: This first in-real-life exhibition by Geisted presents a cross-section of individual and often surprisingly different artistic explorations of sexuality, gender, identity and culture – the puzzle of our identity is played out here through the prisms of technology-supported, digital art.

Among the exhibiting artists is Frederik Heyman , who seamlessly integrates 3D scans of people into hyper-detailed futuristic art landscapes, as seen in his music video for Arca. In his work, which includes collaborations with Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and fashion labels such as Prada and Burberry, humans and technology merge into a breathtaking, technological dystopia.
Sasha Katz's erotic 3D depictions of women radiate sensuality and intimacy; Katz has developed a unique aesthetic language that enables a new perspective on femininity, body image, and queerness .
Inspired by hybridity, queer morphology and cultural identity, Andrew Thomas Huang his roots in visual arts with working methods he has honed in his commercial work with artists such as Björk, Thom Yorke and FKA Twigs: live-action footage and tools such as motion capture and CG effects are used to create a mythology all his own.
GENDER BENDER TIME TRAVELLER is an artistic showcase of a digital world evolving at an unprecedented pace, where artists create parallel realities using increasingly sophisticated digital tools. Virtual games, image editing, Web3, artificial intelligence , and the evolving metaverse are becoming ever more intertwined with our real lives, creating a new world in which we can constantly change and reinvent ourselves.
Self-designed avatars interact with each other and establish another dimension of social reality in which binaries can be questioned and structures revolutionized.
