What does crepe iron bring for long hair?

If you hair with a crepe , you don't just have to conjure up the option. The practical helper offers you many other functions:

  • Do you create volume: the approach always falls flat? Instead of touping it, it is easy to crip it gently. It automatically becomes more voluminous without the crepe effect being visible directly.
  • Designing braided hairstyles: braided hair quickly loses volume during the day and then looks flat and neglected. With the crepe iron you work in more swing and durability. Make sure that your braided hairstyle also cuts a good figure in the evening.
  • Calculated tips: Your beach waves have become too boring for you? Cold the tips to link non -focal to modernity. The perfect spring and summer hairstyle, which is still well sitting at festivals.

Whether you only want to highlight individual strands or crepe all of the hair - with the right device you can conjure up a new hairstyle every weekday, without any boredom.

Use crepe iron for short hair

Short hair gets a completely new look with the crepe iron. Not only the long hairstyle, but also Bob, Pixie-Cut and Co. are staged with individual crepe strands.

The advantage here is that the transformation is particularly quick. Short hairs are crowned and you look very different in the shortest possible time.

How to use your crepe iron properly

The crepe iron gets hot when used. It is all the more important that you protect your hair from burns. Use a heat protection spray before laying the first strand between the crepe plates. This protects your hair from the temperatures.

Tip: Even the lowest setting achieves great results. You don't have to turn up the temperature level to the maximum.

To achieve good results, divide your hair. Use vertically pulled sections and attach the not required hair with brackets. So make sure that every hair is really taken away.

Do you have very thick hair? So that the crowned look really stands out, only pull thin strands through the iron. The contrast is higher and your new hairstyle is more noticeable.

And so it goes step by step:

  1. Take a single strand and clamp between the plates of the crepe iron.
  2. Keep the device closed for a few seconds.
  3. Open the plates, take out your strand and fix directly with hairspray.
  4. Only then do they continue with the next strand.

Attention: a smooth iron is used in a similar way. Here you put on the top and then pull the iron down. This doesn't work with crepe iron. You put your strands, cripple and fix the crowned part. In order to fully crepe long strands, you now have to work down step-by-step. Often, however, highlights are enough for an exciting look.

Crepe iron is available in stores in different widths. For very long hair, choose a wide plate, for short hair a narrow device is well suited.

Hair Art - artistic hair creations of creative hairstylists

Speaking of hair styling - there are a variety of fascinating ways to use natural hair creatively and transform it into impressive works of art.

Hairstyles offer an extraordinary way to express your own personality - isn't that a form of art itself? Let's call it hair art.

A wave of talented hair designers raises this concept to a new level and adds a remarkable dimension to the cultural discourse and visual aesthetics on social media. Your impressive and apparently weightless masterpieces not only transform the hair, but also the way we present ourselves into a completely new dimension.

With this in mind, we present you four artists whose creative work you should definitely follow to get inspiration and insights into this fascinating art form.

Laetitia Ky

Let yourself be inspired by the Ivorian hair designer Laetitia Ky , a talented 21-year-old designer from the Ivory Coast, who creates extraordinary sculptures with her own hair and divides them on Instagram with her 17,400 followers.

Your hair creations range from unusual everyday objects such as bicycles and light bulbs to profound political messages, an important supporter on social media.

Your works are not only creative forms of expression, but also powerful homage to women and the Black Lives Matt movement.

According to Buzzfeed, Laetitia first found her inspiration in a series of photos that celebrated the beauty of traditional African hairstyles:

They were huge and I wondered how to implement it with hair ”,

She told the platform. It seems as if she has definitely found the answer, because every new design that she presents is even more artistic than the previous one.

Although the period for creating every new hairstyle varies, Laetitia often uses materials that are available to it. It integrates needles, wool and fabric into their hairstyles to bring their visions to life. The social media have put their remarkable talent in the spotlight and offer it a platform to express themselves and to live their creativity fully.

Nikki Nelms

The renowned hairdresser Nikki Nelms counts numerous prominent personalities such as Yara Shahidi, while Knowles and Zoe Kravitz are one of their esteemed clients. In order to give her hair a fresh and breathtaking look - in the truest sense of the word - she lets her creativity run free.

Your work is shaped by a variety of inspiring sources, be it the beauty of nature, the latest fashion trends or your personal mood and feelings.

I love to use materials that initially have nothing to do with hair to create new, innovative styles ”,

Nelms explains in an informative conversation with Allure . An impressive example is the look shown below, which was created in a creative way from wire and cardboard. This approach not only illustrates Nelm's extraordinary skills, but also her passion for experimenting and creating unique hair moments.
