An artist, who receives the coveted Turner Prize, got one of the most important art prices in the art world. This year an impressive video installation by the artist Elizabeth Price awarded.
The most renowned British artificial drawing is endowed with 25,000 British pounds - which corresponds to around 31,000 euros. In her video installation, Elisabeth Price dealt with our consumer culture in a spectacular way.
In a kaleidoscope of pictures, she processed pictures of a department store fire from 1979, archive pictures from architecture and photos of a girls' band from the sixties. The jury described the artistic result as "seductive" and "urgent".
The mix of advertising recordings, archive pictures or music videos conveyed a rhythmically ordered experience.

However, despite its undisputed prestigiousness, the awarding of the Turner Prize has not been very undisputed. Only a few artists are always nominated.
In this case, alongside Elisabeth Price it was the Irish musician and filmmaker Luke Fowler, the British draftsman Paul Noble, who prefers a fictional city named Nobson Newtown, and the painter and performance artist Spartacus Chetwynd. None of them went away very empty, all of them automatically receive 5,000 British pound of prize money as a nominee at the best known British Art Award.
After the gymnast was recently handed over by Jude Law , the award winner Elisabeth Price gave some insights into her way of working.
Price said she often worked on a video installation for a whole year. Then change them again and again by cutting it until she realized in detail what she is actually about and what emphasis she wants to set. Since the Turner Prize has been awarded annually to contemporary artists who are not older than 50 years since 1984, he can be expected at the few big prices of the art scene, which the careers still promoted relatively young artists.
As a rule, only much older and already established artists receive the renowned art prices of the world. With the prize money, winner Price can now implement further video projects.
By the way, the Turner Prize is named after the painter William Turner . The renowned Tate Gallery . Some people who belonged to the nominated and did not win were able to obtain the coveted gymnast prize in the following year or later.
Women are represented among the nominees as often as men. The jury is just as internationally occupied as the list of nominated artists.
In the subsequent short video, the nominated artists and their contributions and work are briefly presented.
