Hand-modeled owl in black clay, mounted on a 200-year-old oak stele with mortise holes. Ears and beak embellished with 24-karat gold leaf. Limited edition of 199, signed and numbered.
Format owl approx. 29 x 12 x 12 cm (H/W/D). Format including base approx. 140 x 25 x 18 cm (H/W/D).
Weight approx. 25 kg.
Slight variations in size and weight are possible; each piece is unique. Frost-resistant fired ceramic. The sculpture is secured to the beam by a metal rod. The base plate can be secured to a suitable surface with two screws.

Susanne Boerner, born in Göttingen, has worked successfully as a designer of ceramics, wood, and metal for many years. She is a firm believer in handcraftsmanship, and thus her weatherproof sculptures—often in unusual material mixes of ceramic, wood, and metal—are created in small batches and are shaped and painted by hand. Boerner's distinctive objects are often colorful, sometimes a little quirky—but always full of imagination and humor.
