Cassandra received the gift of prophecy from Apollo. But she refused him. Apollo then cursed the gift of prophecy. No one was to believe her predictions anymore. Thus, Troy fell. The sculptor Olaf Teichmann creates a comparatively simple monument to this rich history, focusing on the human, feminine aspect of the figure. She shields her eyes, as if denying her gift. A woman who, despite all fate, knows who she is and what she is capable of.
Sculpture cast in fine bronze using the lost-wax process, hand-patinated. Limited worldwide edition of 199 numbered and signed copies.
