Kay Winkler, born in 1956 and who calls himself only KAY, has made a name for himself in recent years primarily with his installations and large sculptures.
His “Seated Girl” demonstrates his mastery in this art form as well: with light strokes he gives his subject, seated in an almost classical pose, an aura that goes far beyond the merely erotic.

Kay Winkler, born in 1956 and known as KAY, studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Munich and Stuttgart and made his debut at the age of 18 at the Haus der Kunst in Munich. His central theme was the naked female body, which he depicted realistically after intensive anatomical studies. As an introverted artist, he avoided superficial self-promotion and remained true to organic forms, paying respectful homage to the gendered female body without seeking superficial sensationalism. His works are characterized by a subtle formal and gestural language and are represented in private collections and exhibitions. KAY died in 2023.
