Love sculpture “Kiss me” (2022) by Dagmar Vogt

Dagmar Vogt's art is characterized by the fusion of abstraction and figuration, in which she explores the decay of nature. Born in 1960 near Cologne, the artist investigates the transitions between anatomical and free sculptural representation in both painting and sculpture. Her large-format, relief-like paintings capture the atmosphere of nature with mountains, lakes, and plants, and address the eternal cycle of life. Series such as "Blooming and Withering" and "Blossoms by the River" appear fairytale-like and ephemeral, so that the decay of vibrant blossoms becomes visible through her abstracted painting style. Vogt utilizes numerous color nuances and creates many preliminary sketches for her works.
