The art of SAXA, also known as Sascha Lehmann (born 1975), is word painting. He writes his pictures, letter by letter. "Sometimes there are more than three thousand. They can evoke or transfigure, create clarity or confusion, reach the mind or the gut... or both," the artist himself says. Image and text are always in a reciprocal relationship, which generates the extraordinary tension in his works. In this way, SAXA always demands a second look from the viewer, a second reading.
