3D wall sculpture “Miss Papillon” (2023) by Oliver Franneck, elegance in metal
3D wall sculpture “Miss Papillon” (2023)
Elegance in metal: In Oliver Franneck's sculpture "Papillon," numerous small butterflies merge to form a graceful female torso. For his works, the Munich-based sculptor first draws the contours freehand, cuts them out of metal with a laser, and then assembles the individual pieces into the sculpture.
The object's transparency allows for a fascinating interplay of light and shadow. With the fragmented depiction of the body, Franneck aims to create space for the individual fantasies of the viewer.
Metal sculpture, 2023. Limited edition of 49 pieces, handcrafted, numbered, and hand-signed. Dimensions: 75 x 40 x 23 cm (H/W/D). Weight: 3 kg. Includes hanging hardware.
