Garden sculpture “Flute Player”, bronze

Enchanting tales from the realm of myth and legend: For the Greeks, nature was everywhere inhabited and ruled by nature spirits. Nymphs and satyrs lived in the forests and groves, and by rivers and springs. They have always been among the most popular motifs in art history; their influence extends from Greek vase paintings to contemporary art. Fauns, in particular, represent pleasure and unbridled joie de vivre.

“Flute Player”: He is a late descendant of all the fauns and goat-footed nature spirits, and he summons them with his flute playing, sitting alone in the garden. Sculpture in bronze, cast using the lost-wax process, hand-chased and patinated.
