"I am convinced that most conflicts can be resolved in an atmosphere of consideration and mutual respect," Loriot said in one of his rare interviews. Nowhere is this attitude more evident than in his "Gentlemen in the Bath." Loriot's protagonists always remain polite, no matter how absurd the situation. Loriot (1923-2011), illustrator, cartoonist, author, humorist, opera director – who doesn't know him? Almost everything turned to gold under Loriot's touch: he received two Golden Cameras, two Gold Records, the Golden Screen Award, the Golden Gramophone Award, and the Golden Lion of Honor. Not to mention the Ernst Lubitsch Prize, the Adolph Grimme Prize, the Telestar Award, or the Special Bambi Award... For his outstanding achievements, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
