Silver-plated sculpture “Victory” by Ottmar Hörl, cast art as a limited edition
In 2013, the sculptor and conceptual artist Ottmar Hörl distributed 500 garden gnomes in the park at Mariaberg Monastery. For this installation, titled “The Green Branch,” he chose the quintessential symbol of bourgeois idyll and gave it an unexpected ironic twist with the gesture of the “V” sign.
Signed special edition of 980 copies made of finely silver-plated cast metal. Dimensions 15 x 7.5 x 6.5 cm (H/W/D). Weight approx. 1.4 kg.

Ottmar Hörl (born 1950) is one of the most important contemporary German artists. His sculptural work deals with the theme of standardization, the homogenization of everyday objects that surround us in abundance. But he does so in an extremely humorous way, and his "exhibitions" resemble spectacles, such as when he "carries" a giant flock of owls to Athens, places hundreds of bears in front of the Brandenburg Gate, or presents 1,000 meerkats on a "company outing"—all made of brightly colored plastic.
