Bronze sculpture “The Dancing Bull” by Evert den Hartog
Sculpture “The Dancing Bull”, bronze
The dancing bull balances seemingly effortlessly on the diabase base, jauntily extending three legs into the air. He gazes contentedly at smiling faces – a particularly fitting symbol for all those who have, for example, celebrated successes on the stock exchange…

Evert den Hartog, born in 1949 in Groot-Ammers, Netherlands, received his artistic training from 1971 to 1976 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam. Initially, he primarily created ceramic sculptures until he discovered his passion for bronze in the early 1980s. The subject matter of his works is drawn primarily from the animal world, whose multifaceted motifs are rooted in ancient mythology. Evert den Hartog captures these creatures in poses of seemingly weightless lightness. The Dutch sculptor has embraced the challenge of uniting weightlessness and a connection to the earth.
