Bronze sculpture by Auguste Rodin: “The Age of Bronze” (1876), large version in art bronze
Sculpture "The Bronze Age" (1876), large version in artificial bronze
"The Age of Bronze"—originally titled "The Vanquished"—was Rodin's first bronze sculpture. The decisive influences of his trip to Italy, where he encountered the works of Michelangelo and Donatello, are clearly evident. This sculpture caused a scandal at the Salons of Paris and Brussels in 1877 due to its striking realism.

This version is an ars mundi museum replica, cast by hand in polymer art casting with a bronzed surface.

François-Auguste-René Rodin is considered a brilliant innovator of sculpture and, alongside Praxiteles, Michelangelo, Cellini, and Canova, ranks among the greatest sculptors of all time. His sculptural output is so extensive that a complete catalogue of his works has yet to be published. It would certainly comprise several hundred pages.
