The dream of freedom and power: For Kerstin Tschech, her paintings are about more than just detailed or photographic depictions of horses. She wants to make the fascination of horses tangible. The galloping of these noble creatures, their rhythmic breathing, and the powerful surge emanating from their heated bodies. The scent of horses—Tschech gets that close to the essence of the horses on her canvases. After studying design, painting, and photography, Kerstin Tschech finally decided to paint. The result is an independent, expressionistic style characterized by energetic brushstrokes on textured surfaces. Tschech's specialization in horses has also garnered recognition from celebrities for whom she has painted, such as Athina Onassis, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, and Martina Hingis.
