Glass sculpture “Owl” by Mats Jonasson

Nature in glass from Maleras: "Our forest has always captivated our hearts and minds," says Swedish glass artist Mats Jonasson. This subtly magical connection to nature is evident in every piece Jonasson creates, which he first forms in plaster. From this, an iron mold is made, into which high-quality crystal glass is poured. The finished piece is then meticulously sandblasted and polished. The Maleras glassworks is a testament to Jonasson's dedication to maintaining the design and production facilities in the Swedish glassblowing village, despite numerous competing offers. His glass art is now world-renowned among collectors.
