Paul Burgess grew up in Wye Valley near the town of Chepstow, where he mainly painted with pastels in the 80s and 90s.

After a retreat of several years in a Buddhist monastery, he devoted his particular attention to the inherent connections between things and the magic of the moment. The early morning light also inspired many of his works.
