As a passionate hobby artist, I took the step at the end of October 2011, which is supposed to draw my further development in the areas of drawing and painting. Learning this craft or art has long been a concern of me. There is still a lack of mastery of some basic techniques of drawing and painting.
Learning online was therefore an option for me because I did not want to be locally bound and want to practice the creative design from anywhere.
So I registered for the intensive course of the Darmstadt study community and now hold the first three lessons in my hands.

I am very happy that I decided like that. In advance, I looked at information material and trials from various providers of long -distance courses. After a few days, I decided on the intensive course for the SGD.
The intensive course is a entry -level course that conveys professional drawing techniques. In this way, you are supported to get involved in art and to realize yourself artistically. This drawing course can be equated with high -quality training and with an introduction to painting with oil and watercolor.
You will be accompanied by experienced educators who are also artists at the same time.
one of the most important advantages of this art course is that you develop your own line, your own style. You develop a unique selling point that stands out from the mass.
The course runs about 12-18 months and costs around 100 euros per month. It is awesome that you can assert the course for tax purposes and that there are always offers to learn the first 6 weeks free of charge. That makes the drawing course significantly cheaper.
State approval was also important for my decision in favor of the SGD. All SGD remote courses are checked and approved by the State Central Office for Fern Lessons (ZFU). In addition, the courses of the SGD are generally recognized in industry and business and have been awarded multiple awards.
If the costs fail, there are also a number of funding programs and financing options that can be used.

I have now managed the first lesson that dealt with the basics of sketching simple objects and still lifes so far. I have the impression that the teachers are very careful when evaluating the work and are very individually responding to the works and sketches that you push in. I liked that.
My questions were also discussed in detail and I received extra tips on how to improve my lines. However, I sometimes lack a counterpart that attends me when I draw and could therefore better respond to me.
But that is the shortcoming when learning online, which I have to accept. I am thinking about complementing my drawing lessons at the SGD with presence lessons with a local resident artist. However, this is also a question of costs.
Conclusion: I am really enthusiastic about the SGD and I am convinced of being with the right provider. There are cheaper offers to learn to draw.
In my opinion, the quality falls clearly on the track. In my decision, however, the focus was on learning properly and at a high level. I have already had smaller do-it-yourself courses in books in the past. These were very nice to get started and orientation, but to really learn to draw, professional guidance is needed over a period of several months.
Even without presence lessons, you can learn to draw online at the SGD at fair prices, and that at a relatively high level. However, a certain level of initiative, self -motivation and discipline is a prerequisite for this.
I am really looking forward to the next lesson.
